| デジタル公共財（digital public goods）は、民間サービスとは異なり、誰もが自由に利用できる社会インフラです。しかし、日本では"Public Code"の考え方が根付いておらず、政府のオープンソース戦略も不十分な状況です。

| ## FtC Tokyo の意義
| 
| 第 10 回目を迎える FtC は、国連大学の渋谷キャンパスで、DeSci Tokyo とのパートナーシップのもと開催されます。2 日間にわたり、プレゼンテーション、パネルディスカッション、協働セッションを通じて、デジタル公共財の新たな可能性を探ります。
| 
| ## Code for Japan の経験と期待
| 
| Code for Japan は、防災関連アプリやオープンデータツール、Decidim のローカライズなど、多くの公共財プロジェクトを生み出してきました。しかし、継続的な運営資金の確保に課題を抱えてきました。FtC は、この状況を打開する可能性を秘めています。

| Funding the Commons（FtC）は、Protocol Labs が主催する公共財に関するカンファレンスシリーズです。Web2、Web3、研究、フィランソロピー、産業界にまたがる公共財コミュニティの架け橋となることを目指しています。

| ## 東京開催の背景

| 2024 年 7 月に EDCON 2024 が東京で開催されることに合わせ、FtC Tokyo を開催することになりました。世界的な課題（人口減少など）の影響を受けながらも、独自の文化やアイデアを国際的に発信してきた東京から、新たな公共財やコモンズのあり方を提示・支援することで、地域やコミュニティを再生的に活性化するビジョンを発信します。
